Set in Johannesburg, it tells a story we can all relate to: the neighbourhood park and the people you meet as you watch your children climbing on the jungle gym and push them on the swings. The novel asks the question – who can you trust and how do you know anyone’s real story. What starts off as a story of domesticity and family soon becomes a disturbing read as you realise that the people you thought were your friends are not as they seem.

I loved this book – the familiar setting of Jo’burg suburbs lulled me into a false sense of security and then the questions began.
